In reply to _°00°_. Oh, wow. It takes time for me to load in Firefox, but then it's all fine, nothing crashes. Hadn't seen the hole issue, but yes, I'm seeing it now, at 500% zoom. Going to file a bug, thanks.

In reply to Mu-Tssun Tsai. Performance is a sore spot when it comes to SVG filters in general. And due to Safari tiling bugs plus different feComposite bugs in Firefox and Chrome (though the Chrome one just got fixed!), I had to ditch my initial idea of pixel-sized tile emulation of feFlood and resort to those large feMorphology dilations, which are probably the main culprit here. For me, it's incredibly slow in Epiphany, takes forever to load. I expected that because everything is slow in Epiphany, but I didn't expect it would take a while to load in Firefox too. Much faster in Chrome though.

Somehow this last filter with all the morph in it completely breaks my Firefox. I have to force exit it every time I try to run the codepen…

Also there seems to be a bug where an hole appears when resizing the page in Chrome so that the font-size gets beyond 26px.

Really impressive, although the very last example runs terribly slow on my laptop (i7-13620H) as I disabled Chrome GPU rasterization (since it leads to other issues such as bad SVG antialiasing when Skia Graphite is enabled).
